How to cancel your account

You can cancel your chatr Mobile account in two ways: by transferring your number to another provider or leaving your account inactive. Once cancelled, your SIM won’t work anymore and your old phone number won’t be available. To reactivate service, you’ll need a new SIM and phone number.

Leave your account inactive

To cancel without transferring your number to another provider, just let your account go inactive.

1. Don’t top up your account. Your account stays active until your balance drops below your monthly service fee.
2. If you activate a new account and your account is inactive on day 58 after activation, it will be deactivated. Your account is inactive if your balance stays below your monthly plan fee. If your balance stays below this amount for 90 days, your account will be cancelled automatically.

Transfer your number to another provider

• To transfer your number from chatr to another provider, contact the new provider to start the transfer.
• Your account will cancel automatically during this process.
• If you transfer your number, don’t cancel your chatr account first.
• If you need your chatr account number, please visit us in-store.

Cancelling for a deceased family member

If the account is on auto-pay, visit us in-store and let us know the account holder has passed away. We’ll ask a few questions to verify the account. If the answers match, we’ll cancel auto-pay.

If the account isn’t on auto-pay, simply stop making payments to let the account go inactive.

Before we say goodbye, let’s make sure chatr isn't the perfect fit for you anymore.

• Check for special offers: Ensure you’re taking full advantage of any special offers available on your account. Check for any special offers you might qualify for in your My chatr account.
• Explore other plans: Check if there’s a plan that better fits your needs. You can switch plans by signing into your My chatr account.

After cancellation, account access

Once your account is cancelled, you won’t be able to access your My chatr account.
