All you need to know about chatr eSIM cards
What’s an eSIM card?
An eSIM is a digital SIM card that activates your mobile plan without needing a physical card. Some devices support Dual SIM, allowing multiple lines on one device. To activate certain eSIM devices with chatr, use your phone to scan a QR code. You'll need an eSIM card, for these devices.
Visit a chatr retailer to buy an eSIM.
How to set up your eSIM compatible device
eSIM is compatible with Apple devices running iOS 12.1 or newer or Android devices running Android Q (10) or newer.
Visit a chatr Mobile store to purchase an eSIM card and complete the setup in-store or refer to your device-specific instructions:
Activate an eSIM on Google or Samsung phones.
Trouble scanning or recognizing an eSIM card
If your phone isn't scanning or recognizing the eSIM card, you won't be able to manually set it up. To fix this issue, follow these steps:
- Make sure your phone is connected to the internet. If you're using the eSIM as your only line, connect to a WiFi network with internet access to complete the activation.
- Check if there's anything blocking the camera lens and ensure the entire QR code is visible in the camera's viewfinder.

Lost eSIM activated device
If your eSIM activated device goes missing, visit a chatr store to buy a new eSIM card and explore options to replace your device.
Steps
- Visit a chatr store to replace your missing SIM card and device. Make sure the chatr store provides your current SIM card number.
- Sign in to My chatr.
- Select SIM card change from the Quicklinks menu.
- Enter your current SIM number.
- Enter your new SIM number and select Submit.
Switching between devices when using an eSIM
To switch devices with an eSIM, you’ll need to buy a new eSIM or physical SIM card in-store. Once you have your eSIM card, follow the instructions for your phone or operating system to finish the setup.
Activate an eSIM on iPhone (iOS 12.1 or newer).
Activate an eSIM on Google or Samsung phones (Android Q (10) or newer).
Using eSIM-only iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro with chatr
Unlocked eSIM-only iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models can easily be activated and used on chatr’s network.
