chatr currently offers short codes for both Facebook and Twitter updates. By using these short codes you can send and receive notifications from these sites directly to your phone through text message (for example: Facebook status updates and wall posts, or Twitter @ replys and direct messages).
Once you’ve registered, it’s free to receive Facebook and Twitter notifications whether you are in or out of a chatr zone. Sending text updates is considered the same as sending a text message to a friend from your chatr phone and depends on the chatr unlimited plan that you are on.
To set up Facebook updates on your chatr phone, first login to your Facebook account and activate Facebook Mobile in your Account Settings under the ‘Mobile’ tab. Once you have Facebook Mobile set up, text “F” to 32665 to receive verification code and follow the rest of the instructions on Facebook.
To find all the Facebook commands that you can use from your chatr phone first login to your Facebook account and then check out http://www.facebook.com/mobile/?texts.
To set up Twitter updates on your chatr phone, login to your Twitter account and enable Twitter Text Messaging in your account settings under the ‘Mobile’ tab. Once you have Twitter Text Messaging set up, text “GO” to 21212. Twitter will recognize the SMS message automatically. Follow the rest of the instructions on Twitter.
