Hey there, If you have any questions about your chatr wireless phone or service, like how it works or how to check your voicemail, this is your one-stop information centre to get answers. Have a look and you’ll find the most common “how-to’s”.
Service Features

Voicemail answers calls when you are unavailable. With voicemail, you never miss a call because you can always check your messages when it’s convenient for you. chatr voicemail lets you record a personal (friendly, of course!) greeting and stores up to ten, three-minute messages for a maximum of five days.

If you are on the Unlimited Talk plan, retrievals of your messages will cost 25¢/minute. These charges also apply when setting up you your voicemail for the first time.

If you’re on the Unlimited Talk & Text plan, no worries, your retrievals are included.

Deposited messages are always included with your chatr unlimited plans. You will need to have a balance of at least 25¢ to ensure your callers can leave messages while travelling outside of a chatr unlimited zone or while roaming.

While travelling out-of-zone within Canada, retrievals of your messages will cost 25¢/minute if you're on the Unlimited Talk plan (you are not charged an additional airtime fee on top of this per minute rate). If you are on the Unlimited Talk & Text plan, retrivals while travelling out-of-zone within Canada are included.

While travelling outside of Canada, regardless of the plan you're on, voicemail retrievals are subject to our per-minute rates that can be found here: http://www.chatrwireless.com/web/content/roaming

If you don't pay for your monthly unlimited plan fee, you won't receive any benefits of the plan, and that includes voicemail service. Your callers will hear a recorded message "The number you are calling is unavailable. Please try again later."

Press and hold the “1” key on your phone and follow the prompts that tell you how to set up your voicemail service. If this is not working, turn your phone off, wait a couple minutes and try again. Once you’re done the steps, you should turn your phone off and on to ensure it is working properly. On your voicemail menu, you can:
- change your greeting to a personalized greeting
- check messages
- reset voicemail access password
- change voicemail language preference

Can’t remember your voicemail password? That’s ok. Give our friendly chatr Customer Care a call (*611 from your chatr wireless phone– a free call) and they’ll help you get it sorted out.

Call display is a service that lets you see the phone number of people calling you and shows your phone number when you call others on your chatr phone and yes, it’s included in all chatr unlimited plans at no charge.

Call Forwarding is a service available with your chatr unlimited plan at no charge. It lets you forward your calls to another phone number if you can’t take calls on your chatr wireless phone.

Pay-per-use charges apply if you are forwarding to a number that is considered a chargeable long distance number. Call Forwarding is not available to International phone numbers and will not work while you are roaming.

Group calling is a neat service included in your chatr unlimited plan that lets you add up to four parties to a call already in progress. This service works while you’re in Canada.

Pay-per-use charges apply for each party connected if you are calling while outside an unlimited chatr zone or calling to numbers that are considered a chargeable long distance calls.

To use Group Calling:

See your phone's user manual or:

  • Dial the first number, and connect
  • Put the first call on hold
  • Dial the second number, and connect
  • Connect the two calls by pressing the "Link" or "Connect" command
  • Repeat steps until up to 5 parties are linked.
  • End the conference call by pressing the 'End' key

Our Call Waiting service lets you know when there’s another incoming call while you’re chatting with someone else. You’ll hear an audible beep and you just have to put the first call on hold to get the second one coming in. You’re popular!

Pay-per-use charges apply for each party connected if you are calling while outside an unlimited chatr zone.

  • From your chatr phone's main screen select Messages
  • Click the Menu button & choose Compose SMS Text
  • Choose a name from your address book or choose Use Once (found at the top of your address book list & enter the wireless number of your recipient)
  • Type your message (up to 160 characters) and press Send

There is no guarantee of delivery within a specific period of time. There is also a slight risk that your message may not be delivered, as many factors may contribute to delivery options. Messages not delivered after 72 hours will be deleted. Additionally you may experience inconsistencies in message delivery if the receiving party is roaming off their home network, service providers have made changes, or the recipient has recently changed their service provider while maintaining their original phone number.
