Account stuff

There are 3 simple ways to activate your chatr wireless service:
1) Visit www.chatrwireless.com
2) Call us at 1-800-485-9745 from anywhere in Canada or if you’ve bought a chatr phone, call us from it for free at *611
3) Visit a chatr retail location nearest you
We suggest giving the Getting Started Guide that came with your SIM card, found in the Activation kit, a quick read for some tips on what you need to get started.

To keep your chatr service active, all you have to do is pay your monthly plan fee and extra charges for stuff not covered by your plan one day before your anniversary date . So, if your monthly chatr anniversary date is the 16th of every month, you have to add enough money to your account by 12am EST of the 16th. To take away the guesswork, we recommend signing up to our trusty auto-pay service whereby your monthly fees come off your credit card automatically every month.

Your chatr anniversary date is the recurring date when your chatr plan fee and pay-per-use charges are due. It’s determined by the date you activated your chatr service on. So, if you activated on the 16th of the month, your anniversary date will be the 16th of every month going forward. But, if you happen to activate on the 29th, 30th or 31st of the month, your anniversary date will automatically be the 28th of the month.
Your monthly charges have to be paid by 12am of the anniversary date in order to keep your chatr service active.
To take away the guesswork, we recommend signing up to our trusty auto-pay service whereby your monthly fees come off your credit card automatically every month.

Please note: if you do a price plan change, your anniversary date will change to the date the plan change was made.

If you miss a payment of your monthly plan fee, your service and account balance will be put on hold. Once you’ve made the monthly payment, you’ll be up and running again and access to any money in your account. Please note that your chatr anniversary date will change to the date that you made your payment on.

If you fail to pay your monthly plan fee for six consecutive months, we’ll sadly have to part ways. Your account will be deactivated and any remaining money on your account will be gone. If you’d like to reactivate with chatr again after this point, you’ll need a new SIM card and a new phone number will be assigned to you.

There are a bunch of ways to check your account balance:
  • Go to www.chatrwireless.com/mychatr
  • Dial *225# from your chatr wireless phone for an on-screen notification.
  • Call *611 from your chatr wireless phone.
  • In Canada, call 1-800-485-9745 from any phone.

Yes. Your chatr calls are billed by the minute; full-minute increments to be exact. Partial minutes are rounded up to the next full minute. Don’t forget, calls within your chatr zone are unlimited so you can talk to your heart’s content and not worry about racking up huge charges.

Nope! There are no activation fees, no government fees, no access fees, or 911 fees!
